Masterclass: Minimalism as a Razor-Sharp Tools

I had become a manager of “stuff”.
When did this happen? I had another full-time job that has snuck up on me somehow.
I was constantly cleaning up, straightening up, and hiding my stuff before anyone came over for dinner, for a stay, or even to help clean my home. Managing all my possessions had turned into a massive, time-consuming task.
I was endlessly scrolling through Amazon Prime deals and Black Friday sales. Browsing took time—and buying those items took money, even when they were on sale. Then came returning the items that didn't work out, which took more time, energy, and gas.
Then I had to donate and replace the items that were worn out that were being replaced - more time and energy. If something wasn’t being replaced, I needed to find where to store that vegetable spiralizer (you remember when zoodles were the thing?!) and that also took time and energy.
No wonder I was tired. My energy and time were going to all the “stuff” instead of the things that really mattered most - my family, my passions, my strength-training, my future health and self.
The Minimalist Equation
If you are not minimizing your stuff, you are simply minimizing something else—most often your money, your time, your energy, or some combination.
What if you had more money to fly a loved one home for the holidays or visit the ancestral homeland you've always dreamed of?
What if you had more time to retreat deep into nature for forest bathing, or learn how to use a lathe and turn wood from downed trees into wooden bowls?
What if you had more energy to play with your children and take better care of yourself?
Imagine.
Imagine if you were no longer a manager of stuff.
Imagine if you were instead a newly appointed manager of extra money, extra time, and extra energy. The possibilities are endless.
